Importance of Not Driving While Under The Influence

Did you know driving under the influence is one of the most preventable causes of road accidents? There are many risks when you decide to drive after consuming alcohol or other substances. Alcohol and drugs can cause you to lose your sense of judgement, causing you to do things you might not do if you were sober. Some of these risky behaviors include speeding, running red lights, and ignoring stop signs. All of these actions can lead to accidents that can leave you hurt or even killed. There are also many legal risks if you decide to drive while under the influence. These include being arrested or having a DUI on your permanent record. Overall, you should never drive if you have consumed alcohol or any other substances because it is very dangerous for you and the other people on the road.

  1. I think this blog is something that is so important and many people wouldn't think about when thinking of health and wellness. If you choose to drink or use drugs of any kind it is so important to make sure you have a safe way to get home and to not make the decision to drive under the influence. I like that you pointed out the consequences that could happen if a person chooses to drive under the influence, these tend to put it better into perspective for people. Making the choice to drive under the influence is not just affecting you either, it is affecting everyone else on the road while you are on the road. I'm very glad you wrote about this and brought it to more people's attention.

  2. Hey Rebecca, I really enjoyed reading through this post! This was a great topic to blog about, especially since we are all college students, and driving under the influence is a common occurrence among people our age. People who end up driving under the influence do not realize, in the act, how dangerous it is to them and others on the road. I also liked how you talked about a few of the consequences; individuals do not realize the great amount of trouble they are getting themselves into, especially if they are underage. Overall, I thought this was a great post to bring to our attention, since it applies to all of us!

  3. Hi Rebecca! Thank you so much for acknowledging this subject matter. It is so important to be safe when drinking let alone underaged and driving. Neither of these should be happening at all, but since they are so common, it needs to be discussed. I love all the points you make in this blog, as they are notable and true, and something we all need to think about next time we want to make a bad decision that can affect tour lives and others lives. I loved this topic, Rebecca!

Ways to be Physically Active

Sometimes it is hard to find ways to be physically active, but there is something for everyone. I personally enjoy playing pickleball or going on long walks, either by myself or with friends. The great thing about being active is you don't always have to do it with someone but you don't always have to be alone. There are many ways you can be physically active like going on a bike ride, going swimming, going on a run, taking the stairs, or playing frisbee. The options are endless, and as long as you are getting your body moving, you are being active.

Why Health And Physical Education Are Important

So many people don't realize the benefits of taking Health or PE. One of the many benefits is it helps promotes lifelong activity. Students should learn different types of games or activities they can play at any age to help keep them active. Some quick and easy games teachers could teach include cornhole, golf, swimming, pickleball, and bowling. Health class also helps promotes healthy habits. In Health, students should be learning about nutrition, how to prevent certain health issues, and personal hygiene. Overall, both Health and PE are important classes that every student should take.

Why I choose Health and Physical Education

There are many reasons why I decided to study health and physical education. Firstly, when I was growing up I always wanted to be a teacher but I didn't want to teach a core subject. A main reason on why I chose to go into health education is because I never had a good health teacher when I was in school. Since I have grown up I have realize that I didn't learn a lot of key information that I should of learned when I was in health. My main goal as a health teacher is to be a positive outlook for my students and teach them the knowledge they would need to live long, healthy lives. I also want to teach my student activities they can play for a lifetime instead of just playing kickball everyday in PE. Overall, I want to be the teacher I never had when I was in school.
