Ways to be Physically Active

Sometimes it is hard to find ways to be physically active, but there is something for everyone. I personally enjoy playing pickleball or going on long walks, either by myself or with friends. The great thing about being active is you don't always have to do it with someone but you don't always have to be alone. There are many ways you can be physically active like going on a bike ride, going swimming, going on a run, taking the stairs, or playing frisbee. The options are endless, and as long as you are getting your body moving, you are being active.

  1. I've always wanted to get into pickle ball and it is something I really look forward to trying post collegiate athletics.

  2. Hi Rebecca, I loved the different ways you chose to be physically active. I also like that you brought up the fact that you have a choice to either be PA alone or with a group of people. I think this is very important. Not everyone may like to be PA, but I think doing it with friends is a great way to try something new and get your body moving. I would agree that playing pickleball is a great way to be physically active. Pickleball is great, you can either play for fun, or get a little competitive and play to win!

  3. Hey Rebecca, I liked the way you gave an example of how you stay physically active. I also enjoy playing pickleball. My first choice would be to go to the gym and lift weights, or go for a walk. I also like how you said, " The great thing about being active is you don't always have to do it with someone, but you don't always have to be alone.". This is something not everyone is consciously aware of. I tend to gravitate towards being physically active with someone else; it keeps me focused and lets me let loose a little.

  4. Hey Rebecca, I love how you talked about your ways to stay active. Pickleball is a huge sport for being active. Being able to stay active by yourself is also pretty good, just going for a walk is all it takes to be active.

  6. Hi Rebecca!!! I really enjoyed reading about the ways you like to stay physically active. I like how you pointed out getting exercise either alone or with friends. I can definitely relate to this because, depending on my mood, I like getting exercise both ways. Some of the ways I enjoy staying active include playing soccer, pickleball, working out, and going for walks/runs. I always enjoy finding new things to do to stay active, so I have something to keep me motivated on slower days.

Why Health And Physical Education Are Important

So many people don't realize the benefits of taking Health or PE. One of the many benefits is it helps promotes lifelong activity. Students should learn different types of games or activities they can play at any age to help keep them active. Some quick and easy games teachers could teach include cornhole, golf, swimming, pickleball, and bowling. Health class also helps promotes healthy habits. In Health, students should be learning about nutrition, how to prevent certain health issues, and personal hygiene. Overall, both Health and PE are important classes that every student should take.

Why I choose Health and Physical Education

There are many reasons why I decided to study health and physical education. Firstly, when I was growing up I always wanted to be a teacher but I didn't want to teach a core subject. A main reason on why I chose to go into health education is because I never had a good health teacher when I was in school. Since I have grown up I have realize that I didn't learn a lot of key information that I should of learned when I was in health. My main goal as a health teacher is to be a positive outlook for my students and teach them the knowledge they would need to live long, healthy lives. I also want to teach my student activities they can play for a lifetime instead of just playing kickball everyday in PE. Overall, I want to be the teacher I never had when I was in school.
